I must say that the fireworks at the opening of Jounieh Festival last night were astonishing. It is more than just a scene of fire splashes in the air, it is the delight of sharing this yearly event with people who have in common the love of this city.
We instantly feel this urge to capture the moment with our cameras and phones, denying the eyes the glee of directly touching the spectacle, denying the soul the irreplaceable instant pleasure of feeling it in High Definition reality!
Alas, moments can never be captured as they are, and when we stare at them through the screen we miss the chance we had to live them. For the sake of those beautiful moments, shouldn’t we deny technology a little?
